What is the Phoenix Game?

The Phoenix Game is a game of philosophy.  French philosopher, Vincent Cespedes launched the game in 2011 in Paris, France.  He created a deck of cards rich in imagery that transcends language, culture, religion, and time: a game that encapsulates the human experience.  The 26 cards and game board meet the player where they are to invite self-reflection, meaningful conversation, and the opportunity to see a situation from a different perspective.  The game is a versatile tool for any variety of purpose.   It is effective for light-hearted play during family time, for solitary play during a time of deep reflection, in a healing circle or support group to approach a heart-felt topic, for intellectual and stimulating conversation in a cafe with friends, for discussion of a specific principle in a church setting or classroom, and for brainstorming ideas in a conference room at work.  In fact, there is no limit to the creative ways that you can play the game.

The magic to the game lies in the art of asking questions.  When we approach life willing to ask the big questions, we open our minds to possibilities and expansion.  This is the way of the philosopher.  The philosopher knows that every answer to a question brings more questions.  When we invite The Phoenix Game to accompany us on this adventure, we are guided into the cycle of transformation and rebirth.  If you are ready to embark on an exploration of self-discovery, take a seat at the table and experience transformation through play.
